In 2012, “Angry Chef” Ron Eyester, while the chef and owner of Rosebud and The Family Dog , conceived the idea of a friendly competition between local chefs to celebrate the “ultimate comfort food,” and the Mother Clucker Fried Chicken Festival was born.
This salute to chicken has since grown into a family-friendly afternoon event that showcases the versatility and popularity of “all things chicken.”
Twenty participating chefs showcase their skills with the use 100% natural Springer Mountain Farms chicken to create dishes in two categories – classic and creative – while visitors enjoy their imaginative and delicious creations.
As Chef Ron Eyester debuts his newly formed event brand, I Dig Food, with the return of the Mother Clucker Fried Chicken Festival, which will take place on Sunday, April 30th from 2pm – 5pm at The Stave Room located at The American Spirit Works Distillery. After a two-year hiatus, this chef-driven event will once again feature fried chicken-inspired food tastings prepared by some of Atlanta’s finest chefs and restaurants, along with live music, beer, wine and specialty cocktails featuring American Spirit Whiskey. The festivities will be lead by Atlanta’s own, Mara Davis, who will serve as our master of ceremonies for the day. Moreover, a portion of the day’s proceeds will benefit Songs for Kids, a prolific non-profit organization that serves to enrich the lives of children with illness through music.
